About Me

My name is Miles Greenhill, I am a twenty-one year old artist from Hertfordshire.
I am an artist, which primarily focuses on painted portraiture and using oil pastel in my paintings.
I have been painting since a young age, with my Dad having a talent to draw, I followed in a hobby he was great at. I would paint portraits of my Dad and sister in my sketchbook, and constantly start over trying to work on a better painting. I still show my artwork to my Dad before i finish it, and see what advice he can give to improve my practise. I now concentrate on producing portraits of famous people in my recent projects, as i enjoy it and find satisfaction when the portraits are recognsiable to myself and my audience. I have taken an interest in cartoon paintings from Anthony Rondinone's work, in which i made my own series by taking inspiration from him.

I did Fine Art at A Level, my final pieces were these huge A1 painted portraits of my parents and a mate from school. I found that at school i did not have much freedom in what i could make and in 2019, I joined the Fine Art course. Throughout my time at university I have had experience in a number of artistic fields which include Special Effects, portraiture, model making, animatronics and computer modelling and they gave me freedom to create what i want. Through this education i hope to develop as an artist and gain a better understanding of why i make art.
I sold my first piece of art in 2021 and have done several commissioned pieces in recent months.
